Can anyone tell me how to keep bats out of my jib when it is rolled-up.This is not a joke. It is for real. I have one that wants to live in my sail.

Have you tried removing the sail? If there is no sail for nesting he'll have to find somewhere else to live. Drop your jib on deck and flake it away for a few days you're not dealing with a huge sail.

That might be the thing to do. Hide his house from him and let him move in with my neighbor. I don't mind him liveing in my sail. It is kind of fun to see the look in peoples eyes when I unfurl my sail But I don't want him to eat his way out or crap all over it.

Thanks Alan

We have had problems with bats getting into our bimini cover in the past. They can't resist crawling into those small holes where the backstays pass through. We found that it commonly happened when we hadn't used the boat for more than a week and a half. After using it more often, we found the bat moved on to another boat about 50 feet away that was not being used. It's hard to deal with these things sometimes, but I guess it reminds us that Nature will always have the upper hand.

I had a bat in the bimini once. Scared us both when I uncovered it. Bat hasn't been back.

I keep getting black birds trying to make nests in my anchor locker. I've had to put a roll of canvas in the chain opening to keep them out.
