I've been looking around for some waterproof binoculars, 7X50, with built in compass, bak-4 prism, nitrogen filled, about 1" of eye relief, etc. It looked like I was looking at about $250 Canadian ($220 US) eg. West Marine's Moorea. However, I've come across Barska binoculars (Deep Sea series) on the web which appear to be just as good for half the price. Several sites are selling model AB10800 for about $110 US and model AB10160 for $90 US. Anyone know anything about them? Almost seems to good to be true, but a lot of info and sellers seem to exist for them and so far the little non-advertising feedback I've seen has been good.

Almost all binoculars are made by the same manufacturer to the to the specs of the different brand name vendors such as Nikon, Cannon, etc. What have you go to loose for under $100 bucks.

Bushnell's
I bought a set of these Bushnell's about 2 years ago and they are excellent. They were about middle of the pack in the Practical Sailor rating but were the low price high quality champ. It's unbelievable how much light 7x50's gather!

The Bushnells look pretty good except they don't have enough eye relief for my liking as I wear glasses. As far as bino's I can get right here in Victoria, it appears the West Marine offering is the best value at $250 Canadian. But for half the price, I've decided to go with Barska's AB10800. Binoculars.com met the price advertised on riflescopes.com of $95 plus $10 shipping, so it seems worth a try. Perhaps after I've tried them I'll repost here to let you know how they are working out.
