I had a bow thruster installed on my boat over the winter. I'm curious... for those with bow thrusters, how do you prohibit barnacles from taking up residence in the tube? Is it a simple matter of coating the tube with bottom paint?

Thanks,
Jack

Yep, just paint the tube, prop and anything else in sight but not the zinc if the unit has one.

Paint the tub and everything else except the zinc as Mike said. Mine will get a few on the thruster only... very minimal though and does not hamper power.

Mine came with the boat.... Comes in handy when docking

Usually the props (impellers) on bow thrusters are made of bronze or a resin composite material. Just to be on the safe side, make sure yours does not have an aluminum alloy prop. If so, putting copper based bottom paint on it would be a very bad idea.
