I HAVE A 1984 ODAY 222 WITH BARLOW AUSTRALIA WINCHES. THESE ARE SIMPLE WINCHES WITH A DIAMETE OF AOUT 65MM. THERE ARE TWO SPRINGS USED TO SET THE TWO PAWLS IN EACH OF THE THREE WINCHES I HAVE. THEY ARE BROKEN OR NEAR BREAKING AND I AM LOOKING TO GET REPLACEMENTS. BARLOW IN NO LONGER IN BUSINESS. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY I CAN BUY/USE? Look in the West Marine Catalog or web page. It looks like Lewmar pawls and springs come close to fitting. You may want to check at a local chandlery before purchasing. Good WindsDaves/v DAMWEGAS

Lewmar parts can be made to work

I have sucessfully used Lewmar pawls and springs to service Barlow winches. The springs are a bit long so you might want to have a pair of wire snips handy to cut them down if necessary.Justin - O'day Owners' Web

I had the same problem with my Oday 322 winches. I finally got a responce when I called the complany in Australia long distance. The were quite nice and mailed the rebuild kit with springs to me quickly. They didn't respond to emails however.
