I need to service a barlow #16 winch, but I can not get it apart. Their is no visible slip ring and their are not any holes on the top other than the hole for the winch handle.
you actually have to push down through the winch handle hole to a release lever and it releases the drum. As I remember there sometimes is a rubber flap that covers that release lever ... after the first one you'll be surprised how easy it is. Vic
