Has anyone done any sailing on Lake Barkley in Kentucky? We're planning on putting somewhere on the north end. Advice? Good spots?

Haven't sailed Barkley but try this site for Watts Bar lake. Great read, good stuff. Steve P.

Sailing Lake Barkley

Have Sailed Lake Barkley some in a Venture 17, Venture 24, and a Pearson 33. Check the charts. Narrow channel and lots of SHALLOW water and stumps. Recommend going a couple of miles to Kentucky Lake. Lot better sailing and on the east side of the lake are many neat coves to explore in the Land Between the Lakes area. Duncan, Sugar and Higgin's bays were my favorites. Enjoy. I'll be on Cave Run Lake this weekend.

OKTOPIKL vs Barkley

Jib, There is a Trailer Sailor gathering scheduled on Kentucky Lake 19-24 October. It is at the Birmingham Ferry Campground. Almost as good as Barkley and you could make a trip around to see Barkley. Cave Run is near Morehead east of Lexington. It is a nice short run lake. We went Memorial weekend and didn't see a leaf move all weekend.
