Some time ago a member indicated that he brought his barient winch to a machine shop to have the drum machined to eliminate the binding of the drum with the plastic post. Would he or someone knowledgeable tell me what amount in inches ( hundredths or thousandths) was machined off? Thanks. Roger

Roger ... this issue came up a number of years ago.
Do you have the winches with the plastic drum? If yes here was the reply I posted in 2008. After dressing the drum I have not had any issues since then.

Thanks James--Sounds like .01 or slightly less on the machine shop lathe would suffice without creating a wobble. Roger

On my Barient winches I found one plastic spool had split and the other had the center piece locked in place by rust from the spring clip.
