Considering St Lucia as a bareboat destination. Any comments (good or bad). Other than Moorings, has anyone used others with good service? Thanks. Bob

Bareboat charter

We didn't charter at St. Lucia but we chartered at the British Virgin Island. We Chartered from Conch Charters located at Road Town on the island of Tortola. I was very happy with the people and the service they gave us.

St. Lucia

I can't comment on bareboat charters there, but I can tell you St. Lucia is a beautiful destination. Castries Harbor has the usual as far as food/dining, shopping, etc. The Pitons (mountains) along Soufrierre Bay are gorgeous to sail by. If you can, drop anchor and snorkel along the base of the Pitons for an amazing underwater view. Makes me want to go back! Randy

St. Lucia

St. Lucia is a very pretty island and most people are friendly there. When using taxis/water taxis always shop around because you can usually find someone cheaper. Many times a local may pretend to be helpful with something and then try and get you to pay them for something as stupid as watching your boat when you never asked for it anyway so watch for that, especially in soufrierre. Otherwise that and St. Vincent are very gorgeous places. If you make it down the the Grenadines be prepared for cruise ships to stop in for the day as they usually run a shuttle from thier boat to the bigger islands.
