I used to have one - a fun little boat! But I'm not sure I remember the details of the topping lift for the spinnaker pole.
If memory serves me the topping lift is also the downhaul It was knotted along its length and you merely slip the appropriate knot in the horn cleat on the pole So to rig it would be a matter of attachment to the mast near the deck and again on the mast lower than the jib halyard You need enough slack in the line so that it an reach the mid pole cleat The rigging instructions are in line with this: See page 13 item 6 number 3
The launching tube worked great! I hope this helps

rgroesbe....... I looked at your links for the Bandit and concluded that the answers you seek are in the "how to rig" sections. Please note that there are wire halyards with rope "tails" these connections are most likely jammed and the rope tails have become detached. Use a tool that will allow you to push the obstruction back out...

Thank you. I understand attaching the spinnaker pole to the topping lift (page 13, item 6.3). None of the lines coming out of the base of the mast is for the topping lift. Do you remember how the topping lift ran inside the mast (was there a line you could pull to adjust the topping lift or does the topping lift simply lay on the deck/have to be stowed when not in use?). Or was the only way to adjust the topping lift by the knot selected before you launched the spinnaker? If the topping lift could be adjusted by pulling a line, do you recall where the topping lift was cleated?
