Hi gang,
We're heading to Baltimore this week to visit the family and I was wondering if the marinas are opened up yet. I got the Boston Boat Show blues last week so I thought finding some boats in the water would be good medicine. Any info would be appreciated.

The Inner Harbor in Baltimore is a great place to visit: lots of great eateries, museums, the aquarium, and year round marinas like the Rusty Scupper. You'll have a great time.

Couldn't agree more about the Inner Harbor. And of all places to find great crabcakes I thought those at the Cheesecake Factory were awesome!

Give Inner Harbor East a call at 410-625-1700. They're open all year round and the only marina that has someone on duty 24x7. It's very convenient to Inner Harbor, Fells Point, Harbor East and Little Italy. You can walk to any one of those areas in 10-15 mins or less. Plenty of taxis available in the area as well. Ask them for the resturants that offer their customers discounts. There's some pretty good deals to be had. It's our home marina although we're not there at the moment.

Let's see, Rusty Scupper, Cheesecake Factory, and crabs, that sounds great. I'll give Inner Harbor East a call and probably check out Annapolis if we get time. There gotta be one old boat down there looking for a new owner. Thanks guys.

All the benefits of the inner harbor...putter over there if you like. But without the traffic and parking issues.

I was in Md. Marina on Middle River yeserday,most boats are still wrapped up. In addition to all of the Harbor attractions listed above, Ft. Mchenry has just opened a new visitors center.

If you do make it to Annapolis, The Maritime Republic of Eastport is on the south side of the Harbor. There is a small maritime Museum and The Admiral and I like the Boatyard Bar &Grill.

Hi gang,
Just got back from Baltimore and had a good time checking out most of the places everyone suggested. Met Ron 20324 in Annopolis and had a great time talking boats and projects. I almost made it unscathed until Ron mentioned Sailrite was two blocks down the street. Now my wife and our son's mother-in law sprang to life and began to reschedule the afternoon so that Sailrite was included. We had been talking about their sewing machines and now I had no excuse. Even looking at a 500K boat was anticlimatic.

After stalling for an hour, we stopped in the Sailrite store. After walking through the door you could have stuck me with a fork because I was all done. We were greeted with " Here's the young ladies that want to see a sewing machine in action". Yep, bought the machine, special box of gadgets, extra little things, and the whatever's left in the store.:bang:

Yeah, I went to Sailrite after we had lunch. I told him a gang of thieves was coming in, and to be aware. The Sailrite manager later told me you bought the farm, er, store. He (Dan) and I go back to the 70's to when I took some Coast Guard Aux courses he taught.

You should have bought that boat- maybe they would have thrown in a Sailrite machine
