No and Yes

No we never sleep and yes the server is on the west (left) coast. Too many boats too little time.

Three mile whizz?

Now lets be honest, how many of you wee off the back of the boat? The backstayless design on my boat was a problem for me at first. I developed a technique for leaning against the leeward shrouds and tinkling down wind. It does not work as well as off of the stern but it beats the alternative. Phil, maybe this should be a weekly quiz.

beer and books

That settles it, it took me years to convience my wife that i needed all that beer, now i have an excuse for the playboys (but if its wrong to sail and drink beer, is it also wrong to look at naked women while sailing? i would say the latter caused many a skipper to run aground then anything) all i can say is if this is the case. more ballast! more ballast!

OOPS

It is to sad to be really funny but an amazing percentage of male boating drowning victims are found with their flys open.Yes we all do it but do try to be careful. Voidingly yours Clarke

For credit only thank you

Has anyone considered the relative weight of the reading material loaded? For instance, I think you could fill the cabin with back issues of ‘People Magazine” and the boat would ride higher than when you started. However, books like “Heart of the Matter, Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials and Contract Law” should sink the boat in short order.

For the record

Although I enjoy a tall cold one just as much as the next guy, I definitely do not advocate drinking aboard while under way. If you look again at my post, it says: "At the END of a long hot day on the water..." There are way too many powerboters and jet skiers on the water who don't even know the basic common courtesies, much less extend them to other boaters. Anybody who has been rolled by a speedbote wake or buzzed by a jetski knows what I am talking about. I need to keep my wits sharp while I am on the water, especially with my family and friends on board. So I wait until I am back at the dock or safely on the hook somewhere. Peter s/v Raven
