1994 Hunter 23.5 Anyone have any experience changing the seal on the ballast stopper? If I remove the T-nut in the cabin step will I be able to pull the stopper all the way out of the bottom? Where might I find a new seal? Thanks good people!!!
P.S.---I guess I need to change my user name...lol Have a great day

Have you checked with Hunter? I've never changed mine but have inspected it. If I recall, it was a rubber disk that appeared to be glued to the inside face of a stainless plate. It should be fairly easy to replace.

On the H26 you undo the nut in the cabin and the plate drops out. The guys on the yard here made me a new gasket out of neoprene.

I replaced mine on our 240 last spring before launch. As stated, remove the nut and it drops right out. I used some 1/4" closed cell foam rubber I had laying around and attached it with 5200. Have someone inside to thread nut back on as you fish the rod back in and done. Easy job!!!!

Good advice but use neophrene and 5200. Make sure you clean off the old sealant and lightly sand the area for better adhesion of the 5200 to the metal. This is the way to do it. Push the neophrene up for good adhesion and clean off with alcohol. Allow 7 day dring time before use or closing that water gate.

For those who do not know me, the 23.5 was my baby and I recall introducing it worldwide. Hunter was breathing hard not knowing how it would go.. The following week, I called after introduction to the consumer with bad and good news. The bad news was to get a line dedicated for the boat as I sold 30 in 7 days.
