Casting my mind back to a little over twelve months ago there quite a few posts about September eleven. All of us Aussies felt your pain and sorrow. And as you all probably know it has now happened to us. Spare a thought on Sunday if you wish for we are going to be sailing with a tear in our eye as we remember our many friends and families who have lost their loved ones in Bali. Most were only children, with the world at their feet, enjoying life and freedom untill it was stolen from them by this senceless act.

Australia's loss is our loss

Brother, I am at a loss for words to describe our hurt, our horror and our disgust at what happened to far too many of your wonderful people. Aussies and Americans are brothers and natural allies. We remember your support in our hour of despair and your support alongside our heroes on the Afghan battlefield. We didn't start this, but together along with the Brits and Canucks, we'll finish it. God Bless Oz, the Australian people and the good people of Bali. Regards, Bregan

We do..........

We feel your pain and sorrow. Many Americans are not aware that so many victoms were Australians. Our prayers go out to you. We here in Virginia are dealing with the terror of a snipper now. It's bad enough that foreign terror came to our shores but this appears to come from within. We all must fight this element and be vigilent. God bless you!!

We are With You Mate

I learned a number of years ago Australians are not a group to get angry and never ever tell an Australian F-111 pilot he is half bomber pilot. After we sorted that out we closed that and a couple of other bars. Australia has always been there to stand beside us. They are the first to step up beside us to make any of our efforts international. We turned off the incessant TV coverage after Sep 11 and went sailing it really helped.

Australian friends

Mark: We in the USA were all horrified at the cruel attack on Bali - so many died in yet another premeditated and vicious act of terrorism. Those Australian youngsters and other innocent victims have been in our thoughts and prayers, and we will be with you in spirit as you remember them on Sunday. You can be sure that we will also be with Australia in every other way to eliminate this evil.

Makes me Sick

There just are not enough words. Having been in Bali and all through Indoneasia and Darwin I feel close to what has happened. My heart and prayers go out to all. The #%***%$#** that have perpitrated this terrible act will be brougt to justice here on earth and in the ever after when we are done with them.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you...

Being a sailor and living in the New York area, I know exactly how you feel. It seems like only yesterday when I went sailing on the Long Island Sound to sooth my soul while in the distance I could still see smoke rising from lower New York the weekend after. Something about sailing in times like this that brings things in clearer focus and creates a "steely" determination. As a parallel side note has anyone been watching "The Ship" on the history channel. It is a show about a replica of Cap't Cooks ship the Endeavor and about 50 normal people recreating his sail "Down Under" from the Great Barrier reef to Jakarta. It took 6-8 weeks and they were on the boat last Sept 11th. Needless to say it was a huge shock to them they had planned to land in Jakarta, just like Capt Cook did, but changed plans last minute due to the political atmosphere at the time....Ironically the modern day replica settled for Bali ....

All Our Best to You

Mark The expressions conveyed by the previous posts leave no room for addition. They covered it all. When someone was promoting a really stupid, negative approach to a relationship between people recently, a friend of mine said to him, "We shouldn't think like that, we're the good guys." We've all had a wonderful and, relatively, peaceful last 50 years here domestically (nix the "homeland"), and I know we are all thankful for that. The bad guys always want to crash the party. Doubt if they'll suceed this time either. All the best, Stu
