We are in the process of planning a run to Marsh Harbour in a few months and I would like to know if anyone has experience with Marsh Harbour Boatyards LTD. Or any other place that they would rave about for repair and restoration services.

We have looked at the boat yard in Black Sound, Green Turtle Cay. It comes highly recommended, http://www.distantshores.ca/news_files/green-turtle-cay-boat-yard-fun.html we have friends that have kept a boat there for a number of years. From what we saw the yard was well run. They are not too good at answering email inquiries, best to drop by when you are there. Black Sound can be a bit low coming in the channel. I'm not sure of your draft, anything over 5' should wait for high tide or you will be dredging :D.

If you will be in the Abaco's for any length of time consider joining the Royal Marsh Harbour Yacht Club. Well worth the price, lots of discounts, parties. Also a great source of local knowledge.

Good luck, Bob

Although I have not used their services I was directed to Marsh Harbor Boatyards by several trusted folks. They are convenient to Marsh Harbor, have a big travel lift and plenty of dry storage area. Would be interested in your experience if you use them.

I have read good things about Marsh Harbour Boatyards as well. To their credit, I had emailed them advising them of my woodworking needs and they referred me to another shop that specializes in wood. THey could have easily said, "Oh Yeah We Do Wood Too".

I helped someone work on their boat there several years ago, and have used their small marina when traveling to Lubbers Quarters many times. It seems to be very well run.

While your there make sure you stop by Cracker P's
