ross possibly someone may know this boat, sailed on it or even docked in the same marina. if you where to be in the market, i'm sure you would like to know as much about the boat as possible. so if anyone has information about its current condition, i thought a forum which reaches millions of sailors would be a good place to start. i hope not to affend anyone who knows it's owner of skipper. so please, no secrets.

Used as J World Charter

I sailed this boat for a week in the spring of 2004. The boat was under charter to the Key West branch of J World Sailing Schools, I believe on a week to week basis. My information is two years out of date, therefore, but for what it's worth: Autopilot, was not working. If there was a chart plotter, it was also not working. Transmission was a bit clunky - a marked clunk when shifting into reverse. Engine was fine although I seem to recall having to add a pint of oil, air conditioning working, generator working. The main sail furler was very stiff and required a lot of work to furl the sail. Head sail furler was fine. If this boat was used extensively for teaching, as I think it was, it had much harder use than a normal family cruiser. Think of it almost like a charter boat in the BVIs. Lots of students learning to back into tight slips, set anchors, you name it. On the other hand, lots of students learned to check the oil, the fuel filters, raw water filters etc on a weekly basis, so that couldn't hurt. For sure you will need a full survey. Good luck.
