I am in the process of repaintig my 77' H25. The foredeck and deck areas on either side of the cabin near the stansion posts(sorry - don't know the exact phrase) have small 1/2" to 3/4" random slits in the paint. The slits are not very wide - you may be able to insert a very small flatblade screwdriver in them - but it would still be snug. They are in all directions and not really confined to just one spot. I don't know if this is delamination or just paint that has cracked. Anyone seen this before?

I believe is called crazing

I believe it is called crazing. At any rate it is in the gel coat and not the fiberglass is my understanding. I have seen it on older boats in areas where there is a lot of stress or flexing of the glass. My understanding is it is just cosmetic. However if it is large enough for a blade of a screw driver it is very bad crazing. It may have been painted before and is just paint cracking from poor prep. Usual solution is to sand down, fill and flare properly and paint. Hope this helps I have a 81 Hunter 25 and have seen none of this yet.

not typical crazing...

Kenny - I also have typical crazing - this is not the typical crazing - this is more like someone took a utility knife and slashed very random, small slits on the deck - it is only on the non-skid paint - which is not the original paint - so maybe it just bad cracked paint or something.
