Backup Manual Freshwater Pump

Greetings, I just purchased a Catalina 30 which has a freshwater pump. However, liking redundancy, I don't relish the idea of my access to our water supply being dependent upon: 1) the electric pump; and 2) 12 VDC. So, my question is: Is it possible to install a manual, faucet-type pump (like this: http://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1079) in place of the normal, kitchen-style faucet there now, or will that damage the manual pump (or impead the flow of the electric pump)? Or, is there another solution that hasn't dawned on me, yet? :) Thanks, Barry

Manual Water Pump

I have a foot pump that takes water from the line to the electric pump, and comes out of a seperate faucet along side of the main faucet. The manual pump has a one way valve between it and the source to prevent the electric pump from drawing air.

Sounds like a solution

to the problem. I guess I'd just have to drill a hole in my sink top and run another fresh-water line... Thanks, Mick.
