Making up a new backstay
It's simple enough to just make one up yourself. The wire is stainless 5/32 1-19 estimate about how long it is then get a few feet extra. Then also get Navtec Norseman fittings for the ends, an eye for the top end and a turnbuckle for the other end. These are basically compression type fittings and actually have a higher working load than those that are made up using a crimp. Follow the instructions closely that come with the fittings and you shouldn't have any trouble's. BTW, you can go ahead and step your mast and use a halyard to the stern to hold it up temporarily. Step it with a tape measure attachded to the top, or pull it up with another halyard to get your measurement.
