The H26 has no backstay. It uses a B&R rig. The spinnaker does not go to the masthead, but about a foot above the forestay. I've never seen a H26 with a conventional spinnaker. I used a cruising chute on my 26.
If you are in winds that warrant a back stay you shouldn't have the spinnaker up. Besides if you are at all worried simply pull on the mainsheet! That'll hold the mast back!
