backing plates

Query about where to find stainless steel or equivalent backing plate for stern rail of Oday 25. I thiughtof using 1/2" teak or hardwood but would prefer metal. Any suggestions?

Try a local scrap yard for some SS plate.

Got to http://www.mcmaster.com/ and run a search for stainless steel they have smaller sizes and you can pick the thickness. I buy from them all the time they are great.
