I just picked up a 1987 Catalina Capri 14.2 with the name "Son's of Liberty" on its transom. After owning a Hunter H260 for so many years, with its 1 1/2 hour rigging time, from trailer to water, this light weight dinghy sloop will be a joy! It's back to my roots, in the late 70's I taught sailing on Lido I4's, and Capri 14's. Looking forward to this summer and teaching my grandson to sail. It's been about 20 years since I sold my H260 - and haunted these forums.

My 1987 Capri did not come with a cover for the bow hatch. Catalinadirect.com does not sell them for these early boats. I purchased a later year's hatch cover and made it fit. You can review the full project in the Capri 14.2 modifications section of this site. I added line hangers for the halyards.
