Back stay Flicker

Has anyone installed a back stay flicker on their Hunter I have a 35.5 and need to tighten up the back stay at times quite a bit
I also have a jumper strut that helps with tightening the head sail
I am wondering if really hauling on the back stay is a problem with the flicker

I had a friend years ago who installed one on his 35.5 that he raced seriously. He also put jumper struts on the head of the mast. It worked for him, but he was also a very good racer, so I can't say how much help the mods were. I have another friend racing a 37.5 who has not modified the rig, but has consistently placed at the top of her class and was awarded Boat of the Year several times. Good luck. I wonder if the rating change would be worth it?

I had one on my J/88 with some flat top and roach in the main. When the backstay was on the flicker bent so much as to be irrelevant. Still had to fuss around to get tacks done with the backstay on medium to hard.
