Back Stay Adjuster - H48

On track, on course, beating, 48 kts, stiff and curling 38 ft sea... mast seems a bit loose... shrouds all set...anyb advise

You're kidding, right?

H48? Hunter 48? What's that? Mast SEEMS loose? Pumping? Shrouds unloading? Need more specifics. Shrouds set? Diamonds are set properly? Lowers? Fore? Backstay? Need more specifics. 36 ft. breaking seas? Is this hypothetical? Are you sailing into a hurricane? If your post is for real then these are survival conditions and staying on course/track shouldn't be your primary concern and I would suggest heaving to or running off with warps as just two heavy weather tactics. Your post is pretty cryptic. What exactly are you asking for?

I think his VHF isn't working...

and his cell phone is down. He only has a computer connection and he's typing from the cockpit. Maybe a blackberry. He's given us his current condition but we need a location to give to the coast guard. He doesn't know whether to go "back" or "stay" at marker H48. "Adjuster" is an undeciferable typo... maybe Adjacent? Mark
