Hello O'Day owners,

We are once again one of you! (Owned a 30 and a 34 in the past) Last Saturday we purchased an O'Day 272 LE that we saw on another site on Christmas Day. (It's amazing what one can find on the internet when the "kids" and the granddaughter have gone to the other In-laws for Christmas morning!)

Our 1988 is in good shape overall, but now is a perfect time to do the improvements and the changes that we have in mind. We are hauled out at All American Boat Storage near Port Charlotte, FL. Eileen is working on new interior cushions, we have already removed part of the headliner, and yesterday we wrestled out the holding tank and the associated tubing.

I enjoyed a single handed sail with only the jib out on Monday as I moved her from Port Charlotte to All American. Managed the lock into the canals fairly easily by reading and understanding the posted instructions. Anchored and stayed aboard Monday night and arrived for the haul out Tuesday.

We hope to be finished with the work and back in the water in early February. Then we will require a name change ceremony like the ones we have done on other boats in the past.

This posting answers the question on my avatar!

Best Wishes, Phil

BTW: Our Precision 18 (Hull # 1) is listed on this sailboatowners.com site.

Congrats on the purchase of the 272 LE Phil! They're nice boats.

Good Luck!

Lovely boat, the 272 LE. Good luck and here's to there being no unpleasant surprises with getting it ready to splash.
