Hi all you vegatarians!!!
We are no longer cruisi ng the beautiful and remote Bahamas islands.
. We have just returned to the states via the banks and the gulf stream, and find ourselves in the middle of crazy capitalism and partying floridians on memorial day!
What a crazy reintroduction to the states! From pristine blue waters and remote anchorages to urban skyscrapers, brown black water, and six foot wakes all around. We are surrounded in a small litle basin called a "lake" and it is filled with over two dozen boats all full of people drinking alcohol and partying loudly. Our boat is rocking and rocking with all the wakes from powerboaters pulling their childrn on inner tubes.
Too bad we arent into the party! The 80 miles across the banks followed by the 60 miles across the gulf stream wore us out! All we wanted was a good nights sleep, but we were met in fort lauderdale by hundreds of big powerboat wakes, lots of wateway congestion ans rude manners.
Oh well. This is what we rushed home to i guess!!!
Coming in the port everglades class a inlet inthose hhuge wakes, i was reminded how well this wee boat handles in rough seas. Altho i cant stand up inside and have developed neck problems because of it, this little vessel can take anying weve thrown at it with grace and confidence.
That said, we are considering selling the boat because I cant fully stand up and my neck and cervical spine hurt so much that i ache all day every day. 8 months full time living on the vega have shown me that she is a fantastic cruiser but ergonomically is not the best full time live aboard boat for my 6 foot tall skeleton.
Any ideas? I dont want to sell her because ive grown quite attached to herr, and we now have her fully outfitted for world cruiising, but my neck is giving me serious problems that i can not ignore. I literally cant bend my head or neck to the left any more. I need a chiropractor, a masge therapist and a physical therapist!!! Stretching every day just doesnt cut it.
