Back from the dark side

A big thanks to all of you who sent good wishes when I mentioned in a post that I had to go in for open-heart surgery, i.e. aortic valve replacement.
Well 2 days after I got rid of the fuel leak by installing a new lift pump on my 3GM30F, I got a call from the hospital proposing the operation for the next day. I accepted immediately and had it done on July 27th. Otherwise my health was good enough to have a very speedy recovery, allowing me to get out of the hospital on the 31st, going home for several weeks of R & R.
The heart is now ticking fine and pushing blood thanks to the artificial animal valve installed. Surgeon says I should be good for the next 15 to 20 years. Best news is that I am encouraged to resume normal activities as soon as I feel up to it, so long as I don't exert myself. When asked if I could sail, the doctor said no problem in a few weeks as well as you don't hoist sails and don't work with the winches. A dream come true: I'll just issue orders !!!.
The next few weeks will be interesting. It really feels good to be alive and kicking. Again thanks to all. Claude

WOW Claude. Welcome back. Happy to hear the surgeons knew what they were doing. Those hoses and pumps are pretty important for a functioning ticker. Medical science is such a miracle worker.

So you will truly be the "Captain" of your vessel for a while.
Dish a little sweetener with those orders.

Great news Claude! Bev had that done 2 years ago and is now 100%. Didn't take long to be back to normal, just 4 days in the hospital! She got a bacon valve.

I hope you get Spray in your hair sooner rather than later.
Do you get to put the animal you get a valve from? I think I'd pick a sailfish . Very fast, or a sea turtle. They live forever . I guess it depends on whether you are a destination person or a journey person.

I told Phil that there should be some of these valves in the SBO store the way all you old guys have been going through them. You'll probably get over the racing heart every time you smell bacon cooking, Ron did. Start issuing orders, sunny side up.

Thanks all, Moo was going to be my answer when they woke me up after the operation, but I guess I was so glad to be alive that I just forgot. If Phil wants to keep some in store, mine came from St.Jude's Hospital. Don't know if there are other source LOL. Would be one thing to be but the installation is kind of trick and not DIY . Thanks everyone !
