Winterizing my S2 9.2 for the first time. Completed the engine winterizing no problem.
I was running the faucets to drain the water tank. Turned it off while I left for a few minutes, came back and water pump would not turn on. Usually it turns on when faucett is turned on. I check power switches and all were on. Do the overheat when you run water for quite a while? Any ideas? I am going back next week to try again. Hope it is something simple.
Also, I have an Ocean Breeze Marine AC unit. I disconnected the intake hose and turned system on, hoping it would draw some anti freeze into system. It did not suck any fluid.
Does it take a while? Any advice on how to make sure all water is out and put in some anti freeze?

Winterizing and losing prime.

Hopefully it is just a matter of losing prime. I say that because there are water pumps that do not like to run dry. Do you just have one tank? When I refill in the spring I have to either put a lot of water in the tanks or prime the pump. I also have to prime it before it will start sucking anti-freeze out of the bucket.

Same with the A/C. If you removed the inlet hose to the A/C and lots of water ran out then air also filled the void. Your A/C might not pump until you prime it.

To prime: I get the bucket of anti-freeze positioned close by; I attach an extension hose to the hose leading to the pump(water or A/C), I use a measuring cup with spout and while holding the hose high fill with anti-freeze, then I "pressurize" by blowing on the hose. In the case of the A/C I can actually here the anti-freeze gurgle through the unit and out of the boat. After refilling the hose and quickly placing in the bucket the pumps immediately begin drawing anti-freeze out of the bucket. Good luck.
