I would love to name my baby's middle name after a sailboat or some type of a sailing reference. Her first name would be Hailee and her last name is koll. Any ideas for the middle name?? Crystal

How about...

Gay. After our favorite rum! It works for a girls middle name.

Reuben

two good ones

Hailee Nimble, or Hailee Pearl (after the Sea Pearl). Both of them graceful vessels, both lovely and hardy.

How is Beneteau correctly pronounced?

Is it pronounced ben-eh-tow or ben-ay-tow or bean-eh-tow? Thanks, Crystal

My daughter is named after a boat....

I have to admit, she was given the name for it's nautical tendancies. "Morgan" Hope Hailee Morgan Koll. I like it!

Being a French name it should be

pronounced Ben-eh-taw and not Ben-eh-tow. It sould be a short o sound and not an ou or ow. More like tot without the last t.

Wellll...

On the lighter side, with two cosmopolitan middle names. Hailee Ngh Portia Koll More seriously, Hailee Valella Koll Valella is the species name of a marine invertebrate (non-stinging) that is related to the Portugese Man O'War. Its common name is By-the-wind-sailor.

Take your pick:

Herreshoff, Hinkley, or Hobie - each of great sailing significance.

Try this,

The last youngster born to a member of our sailing club, somehow acquired the nickname "Halyard". This seems to me, to be a suitable nautical type name applicable to any gender of junior crew-member.

Choose carefully

Choose a name with some relevance or heritage. Use care not to be to "trendy", it could be something you won't like later if it takes a definition you don't like. Like a bankrupt, or questionable quality boat or hardware company.I wouldn't use these type of names, your daughter is not a pet or commodity. I would suggest looking into this web site with a lot of links for history and maritime info, www.boat-links.com/index.html There was one term that sounding logical I found in the Norwegian terms, "Bris",norwegian for breeze. Good luck and please post your decision so we all can cheer. Tim
