The stern rail on my 311 is curved all the way around, and it looks like the standard auxiliary engine mounts require a length of straight railing. Any ideas appreciated for options to mount a small outboard engine. Thanks.
I've got a standard mount on my stern rail, and it works OK. The rail, while curved, isn't curved enough that it won't work.
Photo shows it attached to the rail, but not at the 'T', which is where it is supposed to be. I need to either buy a longer one so it hits both the upper and lower rails, or make an extension. The problem isn't so much the curve, as the indent from top rail to bottom - motor tends to tilt backwards. Carried a 60lbs outboard from Miami to Cayman this way, so it does work.
