I don't know if I need to be re-tuned or not on my 95 Hunter 29.5, and my sailmaker says the B

Bill:If you look at the owners manual, I do NOT think that you can properly tune the rig without removing the mast from the boat.If they are not going to retune the rig on the ground and then re-step it on the boat, I do not know how much value there is in this offer.

I Have to Agree with Allan ......................

......... as I have always followed the instructions in the Hunter owner's manual on tuning the rigging of our 1999 H310. From their directions, this is done with the mast stepped. Seems to work. This is also how the mast was originally installed and tuned at the yard.Regards,s/v Island Hunter

In the boat...

While it may depend on which rig your boat has - my 1995 -- hull # 175 -- has a one spreader rig that can be tuned in the boat(the early models had a two spreader rig and the later ones a one spreader set up). While the manual describes giving the mast a small amount of pre-bend before placing in the boat - this can be done after it is stepped too.I will scan the pages from my owner's manual for you and email them to you if you give me you email me.
