I have 3 B&G T41 displays. All 3 worked last season. One this year does not fire up. They are 6 years old and B&G will not support them or repair them. I tested the display several ways and no luck. I have eliminated the cabling and terminator as potential source of the problem. I suspect that it is the connector. System is Zeus2 with nmea 2k network. Anybody have any ideas or a T41 they would like to sell me. The upg

raded Triton 2 works on the network but does not fit in the mast bracket.

That sounds a lot like all of my dealings with B&G over the last 5 years. No support, no repairs, and no direct replacements.

Good luck!

Sorry, no ideas on a direct replacement, but that looks the same as our Simrad IS40 instruments, from the same age. Seems like for some of these types of things Navico uses the same hardware and just relabels it for their different brands. So you may be able to broaden your search to include IS40’s in addition to T41’s.

Yes, the hardware between B&G, Simrad, and Lowrance is usually the same. the main difference is the software in stalled. Lowrance has more fishing related sw, B&G more sailing information.

I suspect that it is the connector.
Greetings. I have mostly B&G on my boat, which was 'upgraded' from Raymarine before I bought the boat. I have only one of these T41 displays on board. I'm disheartened to hear that B&G service is poor or non-existent! With Raymarine you didn't always get the answer you wanted, but at least they were responsive and repairs are available, albeit at prices that often made buying a new item more attractive.

I wonder, why do you think it's the connector? If it just failed spontaneously, I can't imagine how it could be the connector, but I'd like to learn!

Have you sought an independent repair person? Do they still exist? I worked in a marine electronics shop while in college in the 80's, fixing just about anything electronic for boats, including sailing instruments. We had all the service manuals, etc. (I wish I had all of those vintage service manuals!)

It's a shame, it could be something simple inside. Components do go bad with age. I wonder if service manuals are available from Navico.

I would bet it's identical except for the graphics "SIMRAD" or "B&G" on the display; but who knows what software differences there may be? You could compare the manuals.

West Marine has two of the Simrad IS40 displays on clearance for $435.88 each.

Thanks JViss. I’ll try the repair company in Fl. The unit does not power on at all. These displays are in a freshwater environment 5 months out of the year and removed for the offseason and stored inside. They look almost new

Well, the company in Florida can get to it in a couple of months. They advised buying a new Triton 2. Unfortunately it is a different shape and doesn’t fit in the mast bracket. Talked to another repair group who is trying to source a take out unit. I have my fingers crossed. Fortunately I still have 2 displays that work.

Try seawire marine, also in FL:

They just repaired my Raymarine chart plotter.

@Jumpstart I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if you ever got that T41 display repaired, and learned what the fault was? Thanks.

My T41 display continued to deteriorate until it was fairly useless. Every time the instruments were powered on, I would get a message on one of my T41s that there was insufficient memory and it would go into setup mode, I would have to choose language, units, etc., and it only functioned as a display. I came back to this thread at the time, and ended up sending it to Sea-Tronics in Pompano Beach, FL to evaluate and possibly repair. I never found out what the fault was, but it was repaired and shipped back to me for $230. It has been working fine since then.

And, I have a new, in the box, Triton 2 Display that I have been trying to sell in the gear ads here.
