Doing the annual spring washing and waxing of the hull. This is the first year with an Awlgrip finish. I used the "official" Awlgrip wash and wax but I still have water spots. The wash did not remove them and I thought the wax would but they are still there. Anyone got a suggestion for removing stubborn water spots without hurting the finish? I did a search but found no reference to this particular problem....any help? Thanks

The Awlgrip wash isn't strong enough to remove the dried mineral deposit residue. A common problem most people with white hulls never notice. I've always used any of a variety of car wash liquids, all of which were effective and never had a problem removing these spots.

Thank you Don. That seems to agree with the conclusion I was coming to. It seemed that the cleaner was really not potent enough to cut it and the wax is not much better when the going gets tough. I have to admit though that with the exception of the sections with the water spots the hull looks fantastic! Gotta love those blue hulls! Thanks.

Don, what soap did you find that works the best on water spots?
