yea and he had near perfect sail trim these things looked like fresh ironed/hot off the press

This is a common theme in big distance races like the Chi-Mac (this race) and the Fastnet. The shorter boats start first on 10 minute intervals, then progressively the faster fleets. Everyone gets the enjoyment or watching the VOR and Maxis rumble by!

Normally everyone makes a leeside pass. Every once in a while someone goes over the top. Its a bit of a douche move; killing the wind of a much smaller boat.. but you would have to be very brave to take up a boat that is moving 50% faster than you are!
