I just sent out the member contact list to everyone for whom I have a
valid email address. If you did not receive it and are a member
please go to the web site at Become a member of the American Vega Association
and submit an update.

Also, I've updated my log on the cruising page and added a page
covering the major details of our refitting project - several photos
of before and after that you may find of interest.

Wow, Chuck, nice modifications! Beautiful job on the mast. What
size/type rigging wire did you use, and are those Sta-Lok fittings?
The dinette looks really comfy, too!

Thanks Peter,

We used 1/4 inch 316 wire for the headstay on the advice of PT Rigging
just for a little more peace of mind - its not really necessary for
strength but since we use hanked on headsails we figured it would give
us just a bit more security. There may be a downside but after
discussing it with Dan we decided it would be negligible. The shrouds
and backstay are 3/16 inch. Yes those are Sta-Lok fittings, except
for the headstay, re-used from the previous rigging job I did but with
new wedges of course.

The dinette arrangement works quite well as a work area for the cook
with the extension up and as a stand-up chart table for me when we are
under way, and now it looks good too although its not quite finished
in the photos and Laura complained about the junk in the background.
I'll take new photos with the boat all dressed up later.

We're going to Friday Harbor soon so drop by and take a look.
