I have the bearing kit for my H5 Autoprop but need the bearing cap removal tool. Has anyone out there purchased such a tool and where did you get it.

a small screwdriver will do it

If you are talking about the plastic cap - a small screw driver will pop it out.

it's a special spanner wrench

you can order it from AB marine, the importer, in midddleton, RI-401-847-7960. I think it costs around $15. they call it a peg spanner, part #TRI 0168. be very careful when you remove the cap and then the lock and retaining nuts-they alternate right and left hand threads.the h5 does not have a plastic cap over the bearing.

your welcome!

be sure to follow the bearing instructions carefully-work on a clean, contained surface and be very careful of the thrust race bearings (the outer ring of balls)-they're not captured by the race when you take it apart (should be 23 balls on each blade)
