4000+ Manual
I have a 4000+ with a Navman 5500i interfaced. The 4000+ "data in -ve" should be connected to ship's ground and the "Data in +ve" should be connected to the NMEA output of the GPS. This is per the Raymarine support site at http://www.raymarine.com/raymarine/default.asp?site=1§ion=3.You can download the 4000+ manual at the above site, and you should reference your plotter's manual for further guidance. My Navman works in the above configuration. Please consult the Raymarine help site and your GPS manual for your installation, and don't make any connection you aren't sure of just to "try it out".You also need to consult the 4000+ manual to see what NMEA "sentences" it will read, and confirm that your GPS outputs those "sentences" You should also confirm the version of NMEA the GPS puts out. I believe the 4000+ will read v2.5 or greater (this can be confirmed on the Raymarine help site as well, I think).Good luck!
