Recently purchased an autohelm st4000 wheel autopilot. I am having problems running the drive unit cable through my Edison Pedestal. There does not appear to be suffient room to to exit through the bottom. Looking for suggestions.
I have a Simrad and the wire bundle is smaller than a pencil. It easily came through the same hole as the shift and throttle cables. Your cable must be much larger?
You will have to use a stiff wire to get through the holes in the base. The problem is that there are two plates in the base and the holes for the wires are 90 degrees apart in the bases. You can see one plate from the top of the pedestal and one with a morror from the bottom. Watch your wires from the top to make sure that they don't get pinched by any of the moving cables in the pedestal. Good luck.
