yup, garmin makes a superior product with superior backup, raymarine makes - no, imports from england - a mediocre product and makes an art of ignoring customers after the sale. he who ignores history is condemned to relive it.
I think it's called the Simrad Wheelpilot "WP" 30The unit is easier to install than the Raymarine unit (compass is integrated). And I have been happy with the customer service. The units perform simirlarly.
When I recently had trouble with my ST4000, the ridiculous customer service and tech department nonsense I was forced to deal with gave me reason to research another product from England sold by Simrad..the WP30 autopilot. I bought it and installed on my Cat30 in less than two hours and yes it will interface with your Garmin. Previous poster notes similar performance and I would agree but the ST4000 handles the wheel a little more smoothly. Good luck......
