Autopilot for a First 38

I have a new (to me!) First 38, 1980's vintage. Needs an autopilot. I suspect a below decks linear drive type is required, rather than wheel type due to displacement (about 16000lbs). Anyone have comments? Which make/model is good, and reasonably priced? Thanks!

I'm installing a Raymarine SG1 system

Some great deals being offered right now on "package" systems from Raymarine. I purchased a complete smart processor system for my B-373 for about $2700 with the ST-60 control head. The less-smart system is about $500 less. I've used the system befor and really like it!
