Autohelm Wind Instrument

Need help troubleshooting. Works fine on starboard tack. On port tack wind direction is sometimes okay, but the wind speed is messed up. Sometimes display shows _ _ _ with a small square box in the exponential position. It can be 15 + knots and it will show 0 0r 1 Or 2. I have checked the connections, but does anyone know which wire controls the port speed?

Location, location, location

Suggest you go straight to Raymarine for answers. Try their URL (www.raymarine.com). Most likely the problem is related to the position of the sensor. It must be hit by sail draft.Sailkota

Autohelm

Last year I installed a ST60 wind instrument and noticed that on the port side at about 50 degrees the needle would stick. Changing attitude would not change the needle, however a complete tack to starboard would snap it out of it. Last year I to replace the masthead unit and the problem did not go away. I found out that a slight tap on the instrument would clear up the problem. Ive done everythng and the problem still exists. Good Luck Jim
