I have the above with a cluster of 4 instruments. Recently I had the boatyard remove the Autohelm unit along with the ST 4000 instrument unit. Now i have no power to the remaining 3 instruments. In the manual it appears that the ST 4000 powers the rest of the instruments but this would not seem to make sense. Does anyone have information on this? Also, if this is the case, is there a relatively simple way to jumper power to the other instruments. The ST 4000 was sent back to Raytheon and I wont have it for a month. (The guys at the boatyard are not too knowldedable about this stuff) Thanks, John Perri

Raymarine Site

Hi John, The manuals for your instruments are on the raymarine site (under customer support) and it looks like you should have a junction box in the 'loop' somewhere with 3 wires - according to the manual for the st50 speed the red is 12+ .... check it out. Have a look - let us know how you get on! Ed

draws the most amps!!!

the st4000 with wheel pilot can draw almost 5 amps. if it drew it though your other instruments it could blow them up. cheers mike

Wired together

I installed (3) Raymarine ST60 Series Instruments two seasons ago. I wired them together using one power source, and jumped them from instrument to instrument using the provided SeaTalk Cable. When using an autopilot, the power for the system is provided by the autopilot. I would suggest providing a temporary power source with a 5 amp fuse to get power to the instruments until you receive your autopilot back from Raymarine. All you would need is the proper connections to the first instrument in the cluster. I am sure the SeaTak cable is already in place for the other instruments in the Pod. The power comes into the instrument via the first SeaTalk cable connection. If you do not have any extra cable I would contact Raymarine and ask them to send you one at no charge.
