For quite a few years now my white instrument covers have been gray and generally dingy. I've tried nearly everything I can think of in the way of cleaners. Nothing has worked. Until now. The dinginess sort of looked like mildew in the surface of the plastic, and additionally the surface was somewhat porous probably from cleaning attempts with aggressive cleaners and compounds. Here is what worked - the Clorox Bleach Pen. It took a couple of applications with a 5-10 minute wait time before rinsing with water, but the end result is a spotlessly white cover!

Rich..

Had you tried the Magic Eraser? They are really quite amazing and they too get into those pores without chemicals...

Try - Amazing Rolloff. Wet it with water spray "Rolloff" on (let it sit if bad) wipe and rinse. Leaves a protective layer - works great on the fiberglass.

Tried the Magic Eraser, no joy. And covers.....

Terry, No I don't know where to buy any covers. In the past I've searched eBay and some UK sites. I know that they are no longer available from RayMarine. If you find a source, please let me know too. I lost one a few years ago.

Instrument Covers

Some months ago I tried to get some white replacement covers. None left on the planet according to the Rankmarine man. So I settled for the grey covers with the white lettering. Quite nice. Not cheap at $Cdn.20.00 a cover. Got them from a dealer in Vancouver.
