I have recently pruchased a 98 Hunter 260 equipped with an Autohelm Bidata (depth and knot meter). The boat did not come with a manual for the instrument. The depth reads 0.00 and the "depth" jst blinks. Is it faulty or just in a calibration mode? Help.

Is the transducer damaged or disconnected?

It is likely one of these two problems.

Manual

You might try the Raymarine web site. They have a number of manuals on-line that you can download and print out.

Mike; You wrote "the depth reads 0.00, and the depth just blinks". Was that supposed to read 'the speed reads 0.00, and the depth just blinks'? Those are the symptoms of a faulty transducer. My Tridata speed will read 0 when the transducer is fouled, and the depth will flash it's last reading when it is not receiving. Does this unit have a combined transducer, or separate? In my case I had separate speed and depth instruments, and replaced them with the tridata which reused the existing transducers. Michael

Thanks Mike, Steve and Matt

Thanks Mike, Steve and Matt, The instrument has spearate transducers of for speed and depth. Based on your response I suspect that the transducer for depth is fouled. I will visit the Raymarine web site and attempt to download the manual. Regards, Mike
