Tying to wire my GPS to the radio interface. Could anyone provide insight as to which color wire would be NMEA in and out?

On my Garmin GPS 76 handheld.... the four prong data/power cable has the following: red-power, black-ground, brown-data out, white-data in....
However... If I were you I would do a google search usining your specific gps model..requesting a communications wiring diagram.......'cause the comm wires designations may not be standard from make to make, model to model.

Radio Interface
Sorry I can't provide any more detail, perhaps the OP can.
Autohelm/Raytheon/Raymarine made a 'radio interface' for connecting a gps or other navigational signal to the AH4000. I vaguely recall it used just a couple of NMEA sentences, and converted the NMEA to the AH4000 proprietary external track error input. They likewise had a windvane input, and windvane, so it would steer by the wind instead of internal compass. I think the wind input and radio input on the unit were the same.

GPS
Are we talking for a DSC VHF and if so the wires come from the radio to GPS,nothing is being sais about DSC and pretty sure only DSC would have the option to connect to the GPS.
I did not hook up mine but the GPS manual should tell you which wire to connect,not to the autohelm.
newer auto hooks to a computer that has connections for the wind machine and compass and wind vane

it is a two wire hook up NMEA out from the auto helm to the MNEA in on the radio and vica versa with the NMEA in from the auto helm to the radio NMEA out (possibly also called a ground or signal ground. The owners manual will have the colors in it.
