I am lookin to install an auto polit below deck on a Hunter 35.5 1988. I am requesting advice. I like to take advantage of others experience ldorman

I thought about it then went with a wheel mount

I thought that based on the fact that our 1992 35.5 was going to be a pain to wire that we would go with a below deck install. After looking at the access constraints of the rudder controls under decks, we ended up going with a wheel mount after all. If you end up changing your mind, let me know since we do have some insigtht into that type install. alopez865@earthlink.net

Thank you for your responce - am concerned about the restraints also - how well does the wheel driven unit hold - what unit did you you use ldorman

Simrad WP 30

wheel mount was my choice after looking at all the availiable options. I installed uint in about 2 hrs on my '82 33 hunter. This unit should have ample power for your 35.5, verify specs first. Works well no complaints yet. ps OnlineMarine.com had the best price at the time. Good luck.
