The Simrad NSS8 chart shows GPS position and speed. The Simrad IS20 speed and depth will sometimes not show the SOG and the Auto pilot indicates NO GPS even though the Chart is still receiving GPS and showing a correct SOG. So can you systems people tell me what is happening. This will happen for a short time on most sailing days. Sometimes turning the system off and the on after a few minutes will correct the problem. The boat is a Beneteau 37, 2012.

Do you have a Simrad VHF, and if so has it been updated? Also has the chart plotter been updated to the latest firmware? Our 2014 37 had similar problems, with the VHF taking out the network preventing components from communicating. Updating the chart plotter helped somewhat. Updating the VHF pretty much entirely fixed it. Only lingering issue is that sometimes when we first turn on the VHF we'll get a "No Autopilot Computer" alarm on the chart plotter for a moment.

I changed the VHF to an RS35 to fix a problem with the the old VHF not reporting the GPS position. So, The radio is updated and I have updated the NSS8. The "NO Autopilot Computer" is what I get when it happens. Thanks, I will test turning off the VRF when it happens to see the impact.

The RS35 is what we have as well. Be sure it's on software version 2.87, or at least the one before that (might have been 2.84). Before that was the problem you describe. We also had a problem with the wind transducer, and when it failed it took out the whole network. But when that happened it didn't fix itself until the wind sensor was unplugged.
