Has anyone ever come up with a good (effective and cheap) method for attaching stuff to the genny track? I've got some things that would be handy for, like a fish pole holder, flashlight, or a pair of shear legs to suspend an oil lamp over the side for indirect lighting. But I can't figure out a reasonable way to manufacture something that will slide over the track. I'd also like to mount a second fairlead for my cutter jib on the same track as the genny block. The mount should be as easily placed as the jib block car.

How about this

Bend the thickest piece of flat stock (preferably SS) that you can into a flattened "C" shape sufficient to slide over the track. Drill and tap a hole in the back of the "C" and insert and tighten a bolt to keep the thing from sliding. Then you've got the base on which to mount your goodies. This is basically what they do to make other items that attach to a track.

Or

buy one of the most basic sliding track things like a fairlead perhaps, have the fairlead cut off and have a welder weld on a platform or what have you to mount the device of day.

Fairlead

I bought a couple of very nice fairleads (for 1 " track) on Ebay a few months ago. They were made by Merriman. BTW, is Marriman still in business? Anyone have a link/address for them?
