My friend has an early '70s C&C35 Mk1 with an A4 and the original dual lever Morse Engine Controls.

The controls do not work very well at this point and require him to keep the trhottle steady with one hand while moving the gear selector.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has rebuild or replaced one of these. I've done some searching but have found very little info out there.

He will put in a call to Moyer Marine and ask them as well.

Thank you very much in advance

Matt

The cables have numbers on them. Or you can measure the current ones then match the style on the site. I just changed mine and though the numbers would be on the engine side, however they were stamped on the side that was in the pedestal.

I tossed mine and changed to a single lever and I love it! Al so switched sides to port as to me it feels better with a tiller in my right hand!...Dale

Single Lever for Paragon Reversing Gears?

Can I switch to a single lever control with the Atomic 4 Paragon Reversing Gear transmission? I'd love to do so but will it work with having to hold the lever back to keep it in reverse?

If the fwd/neutral/rev clutch shifter lever is moving the governor setting lever, then the problem is most likely dray between the levers at the pivot. Take it apart, clean, fine emery cloth, adjust the shims and grease. They will work like new. Sounds like you don't need to replace the cables but if you do they are a standard item readily available at all marine supply stores.

Single lever shifter works fine with my A4 although you do have to lean on reverse a bit more to get it to kick in.
I like having a separate throttle control; a pull knob or (oldSkoolNeil knows this part name. Something like a "Rheostat Valve").
