my hunter 22, 1984 has a six switch electrical panel, I just purchased it, any way I don't know how the panel works, I push a switch and it lights and the proper listed item works, but if the switch does not light what does the fuse do next to it if it is blown, does it pop out or does it light up to tell me something is wrong.

The problem was the fuse holder which is next to the switch did have a blown fuse but inside of the holder a spring was very weak and did not pop out.
I hope this may help anyone else with a similar situation.

Re: at a lose

If you push the switch and the light/whatever it controls don't work.. you need to check the fuse. It should be a screw out AGC type (barrel type with clear glass and metal end caps like used to be used on autos before they switched to the blade type fuses). You may however have an aftermarket fuse panel, so the above may or may not apply.

Cheers,
Brad

Brad, Thanks for your reply, but the panel I have is six switches and six fuse indicaters side by side and I wanted to know if a fuse is blown if the indicater lights up so you know an over load occured and popped the fuse.

Quick check would be to take out (unscrew) a fuse, turn on the relevant switch and see if the indicator lights.
If it does then you have your answer. No damage will result.
