I have a 30' O Day and am considering buying an asymmetrical spinnaker. Would appreciate any comments on brands, types or experience with them. THANKS

Try Kappa Sails in Westbrook CT. They are knowledgeable, friendly and great to work with.

Doyle makes a great asymmetrical

And it's available on this site. We bought one for our '77 h27 summer before last. David Lady Lillie

Neil Pryde

We bought an asymetrical (aka Cruising Spinnaker) from Neil Pride in Milford, Conn. for our O'Day 37. Neil Pryde was the original equipment supplier for many O'Day models and I have never seen any special reason to buy from anyone else. At this point, we have bought a new main and two new jibs as well as the spinnaker. I have been very pleased with them -- like putting a new engine in the boat. They have a website http://paw.com.sail.neilpride/

I had great luck with.............

I had great luck with Cruising Direct out of Newport. I ordered my cruising Genneker for my C-400 directly on-line at their website www.cruisingdirect.com(although you can also call them if you need assistance.)and also purchased a "snuffer" and ATM. Everything came sail ready.......tack, sheets, bag, etc. I was sailing with it the day I received it in the mail. I thought it was a good price... definately worth taking a look. Good Luck.

Peter B?

Glad to see an O'Day 37 with regards to an asymetrical. I've been researching this type of sail also and when i saw you mentioned a 37 i had to respond. I'd love to talk with you a bit about rigging and so fourth and what modifications your boat has. Main sheet traveler, asymetrical, etc.. Write me back here or freewill@nlc.net thanks! howie

Recommend Asymethrical

Easy to handle - two can manage it well - why go otherwise?

Asymmetrical spinnakers

You said that you bought a Doyle sail. Did you buy the UPS or APC and how does it work in light air?
